I see the government have announced they are scrapping the automatic six month MOT extension they brought in at the end of March as we went into Covid19 lockdown. I was under the impression they originally announced the they would be carrying on with issuing the extensions until March 2021, did I imagine that?

Twelve month testing starts again on the 1st of August 2020.

I chatted to our local small garage guy a few weeks back and he was complaining about how much the lack of MOT tests was affecting business. Not just the fees for the test but the knock on business putting things right on MOT failures.

Have had a thought. All the MOT tests missed in April will now be due in October as will all the October ones. The same will happen every month until the end of next January. That will be double the number of cars each month, will the garages have the capacity to cope?
